Bad or good news first? I'll start with a good one.
🔴❗️ Did you know that in 2016 the young model Ava Clark with her unusual appearance conquered the world of fashion? 9-year-old African-American girl was born with albinism a disease due to which her body does not have a pigment melanin, responsible for coloring the skin, hair, iridescent and pigmented shell of the eyes.
➖ With her unique beauty and no less interesting personality, the girl attracted the attention of several modeling agencies. Photos of Ava adorned the covers of the magazines Vogue, BOOM and Denim, she managed to work with eminent photographers and subdue them with her cheerful nature and serious approach to work.
Now Ava is a successful model and just a happy child.
➖ However, her life was not always cloudless.
When the girl was 2 months old, doctors predicted blindness because of her genetic features.
But the blond girl not only denied the terrible diagnosis, but went further. Ava studies in an ordinary school and wears glasses.
When the young model is not busy on the set, she is engaged in gymnastics, ballet and reading.
⚫️ But not everything is so rosy and not everyone is so lucky. For example, in Tanzania, these children have to be guarded:
Photographer Eric Laforg (see photo) documented the tragic stories of Tanzanian albino children, whose flesh, according to sorcerers, brings good luck.
Bakara Cosmas, a 6-year-old boy who is constantly smiling, has one of the most horrific stories. 17 suspects were arrested in connection with the mutilation of his hand including his father and his younger brother. They hacked off his limb and sold it to witchdoctors for $5,000. Source
➖ Laforg visited an institution run by the charity Under the Same Sun. There, under twenty-four-hour protection, live albino children. They are released into the street only accompanied by guards.
➖ "In Tanzania, the body of albinos is worth its weight in gold. Sorcerers use parts of their bodies - noses, genitals, tongues, fingers and ears - for cooking potions that supposedly bring happiness, "says Liaforg.
➖ Since 2000, 76 murders of albinos have been reported in the country, although in fact they have happened much more. President of the country Jakaya Kikwete called the attacks "disgusting" and "a great shame for the country." Fineness of the albino costs from 500 to 75 thousand dollars - and this is in a country where the average monthly salary is less than $ 40.
I do not want to tell you countless stories from which the blood in my veins becomes cold, I will give just one example: The girl Kabul Ngarango also suffered from an attack. At the age of 12 her arm was chopped off while she was sleeping next to her mother. She dreams of becoming a lawyer and defending other albinos.
That's all. Share with your friends such stories. The more people learn about this, the higher the probability that this "Middle Ages" will be terminated.
I can not believe this... How cruel is that! Good comparison with the Middle Ages!
Which means that for 40 000$ an average man should work there ~100 years and it explains a lot...
When I was a child I thought tt WW II was the last cruel thing on the planet...
Yes, as they say, everything has its price ((
