Recently, I completed a pencil sketch of a girl gently touching her lips to a delicate feather. As I worked on this piece, I focused on capturing the lightness and fragility of the feather, almost as if it could float away with a single breath. The soft, grey pencil strokes I used allowed me to bring out the fine details of the feather’s texture, contrasting with the smooth, subtle curves of her lips.
With this drawing, I wanted to express the tenderness of love and how incredibly light and effortless words of love can be. Just like the feather, these words can be gentle, yet they carry the power to touch the soul deeply.
Through this simple yet meaningful image, I hope to evoke the feeling that love’s words, much like a feather’s touch, are soft, yet they leave a lasting impression.
When I sit down to draw, especially portraits, I often listen to the powerful, enchanting music of Nightwish. As the music fills the room, I find myself entering a trance-like state, where every stroke of the pencil feels guided by something beyond my conscious mind. It’s as if I’m not just drawing with my hands, but with my soul. Time slips away, and when I finally return from this trance, the portrait in front of me feels like a deep expression of that moment.
This process is incredibly personal to me, and it’s through these moments that my most meaningful works are born. The delicate balance between the music, the emotions it stirs within me, and the pencil in my hand creates something unique each time.
I’ll continue to share more of these artworks and portraits, hoping to convey the same depth of feeling and connection that I experience while creating them.
