Embracing Unity in our diversity, the solution to hate crimes in our society.

Does a man's race or physical attributes makes him high or less of a human?

Can being a black person makes one to possess a dark soul? While having a white skin signifies one with a clean soul.?

Has anyone the ability to choose it's race before they were born?

Now, why all these questions?
Many have chosen to justify the credibility of human person based on the color of skin, race or religion.

Indeed,History has recorded so many cases of racism, hate crimes, human slavery and abuses. Few of them includes the apartheid and xenophobia cases of South Africa, the wrecked of Hindu's temple in Canada, the terrible Muslim attack on Jewish family on October 26 2013, the attack of mosques in London, Indians attack in Australia. the Painful Madalla bomb blast that occurred in a Catholic Church in northern part of Nigeria, resulted in the death of worshippers on Christmas day. The list can go on and on.

A conducted Pew poll revealed a disappointing number of African Americans that are being maltreated by the courts, police, government, and private enterprise.

Another big question is” why do we focused soo much on our differences instead of appreciating and embracing our uniqueness”?

Whether white or colored, African or Asian,
Muslim, christain, Buddhist, or traditionalists. We are all created in the same image of God. Come to think of it; we were once innocent kids until our society, tradition and peers groups instilled this thing called "hate" in us.

But in order To achieve lasting peace, we need to break from the norm and embrace unity and togetherness without minding our sociological, physical,political,and cultural differences. We should quit making comparison based on the color of our skin or physical attributes. Those are not what truely defines us. Neither our religion, or cultural background.

Our differences is what makes us unique and we all need one another.

A popular adage said that; “each single stick of a broom is easy to break, but the ones in a bundle cannot be easily broken. What that signifies is that we can achieve so much if we work together as one without focusing on our individual differences.
Imagine what will happen if we kept segregating people because we claimed they differs from us. we might end up being that person nobody want to work or associate with. All human race and tribe in the world are just like different colored flowers of one meadows, all unique and beautiful in their own way.

Embracing Unity in our diversities can put an end to different hate crises in our society today. It focuses on the existence of oneness among people of different background and features, not minding whatever differences they might have.

our energy should be focused in achieving great things while working well with other people instead of wasting such energy in hating and abusing one another. Hate can drain our mind and energy level.

positive move has been made by @Nigeria national orientation agency in commencing “Shun hate speech” campaign. This decision was taken due to the alarming rates of hates and abusive speech mostly indulge by the young Nigerians on social media. The Igbos, Hausa and the Yorubas (the 3 major tribe in Nigeria) are always in controversy with themselves.

Without doubt this can go a long way in curtailing the major crimes caused by hate speeches in our society today.

Unlike other social network, @Steemit is an amazing platform that has clearly made it possible for people of different background to contribute and share positively while staying away from hate or foul speech which can actually ruin one’s reputation in the system. Because once your reputation is ruined, then you have denied yourself the opportunity of profiting from the community. So it's very simple; you can educate, enlighten and entertain with your blog post, upvote other good blog post or offer constructive criticism and lastly. earn, or you can be negative or use foul speech and be flagged. No sensible person will like to be flagged.

I wish other social network should emulate this culture by shutting down account of people that spread hate and abuses online.

Most of the hate crimes is as result of hate speech.

We still need to do more on our own in order to ensure unity and coexistence among ourselves, by accepting everyone the way they are and not the way we want them to be. Instead of hating and abusing one another, we can only find a way we can help each other.

Reasons Why we need to embrace unity even in our diversity;

• it will help to keep people away from social crises and thereby makes conflict management very easy

• It will enhance the healthy human relationship and protect equal human rights.

• It helps to promotes national integration and peace

• Most importantly it promotes different sources of skilled and advanced professional in various area of the country.

Quit hate speech, love more and hate less. Let's all make the world a better place.
