Impatient the world of now

Good morning, we live in a world of now, due to technology, everyone expects results immediately. Even if the result is not resolving the issue, the immediate gratification is all that desired.
For instance, a good friend of mine owns an HVAC company, we were talking last week and he said, it doesn't matter what you do anymore, as long as you arrive. So of a customer calla, they are hot, and steps are taken to resolve the issue remotely, and the customer is not satisfied his company is dispatched. Good or bad, all that customer wants to see is a body show up. That person, for whatever reason, feels that someone just walking through the door solves their issue although the systems may be doing all they can and they were told that. This gets very costly for companies such as mine who I manage that end of the business for a large retailer. If it does not make sense to send a tech out I do not want it.

The common sense side of thinking is gone, because we can hit one button and a car pulls up to take us places or we do banking with one touch, it becomes common practice to think even driving across town in rush hour should take 10 minutes and we become unrealistic.
We all should try to be more realistic with nontechnology actions and think about getting the right thing, not getting something fast. Things take time to be done right.
