Me and the co-pilot kits had just made a delivery in Madison MS.
We were making our way up route 16 heading up to Tupolo to pick up a load.
About 20 miles out, We spotted a kitten smack dab in the center of the west bound lane. It was still alive! But for HOW LONG
My emotional reaction shocked & surprised me. It was like being punched in the stomach.
The U-Turn
Now miracles come in all shapes and sizes. A wide spot, wide enough to do a rather fast u turn is very rare. And a mile down the road from the kitten is simply A Miracle
When I got back to the kitten. I saw several vehicles nearly hit the lil fella. Who knows how long it was there. MIRACLE KITTEN
Stopped at a Wal-Mart for some kitten milk and a small bottle. So far so good. Co-Pilot Kitties are not real happy about it. Takes them awhile.
The first 48 will tell the tale. Hope The Miracle Kitten makes it. Trying to DE-Stress the kitten now. Pretty sure the Lil fella is a boy.

My wife drove up into GA. 2 hrs to help me with the feeding. She has a way about her with the kittens. She got him feeding without forcing it.
We went to Tractor Supply and Chic Filet here in Thomasville GA. Picked up a better feeding bottle and kitten wet food. This is where i delivered earlier today.
Off to pick up a load in Columbus GA 2 maro heading out past ya'll on my way 2 Phoenix AZ for next monday.

haha! I love that meme! so good. Ok well you're just cris-crossing the country. Your wife will take the new one back home obviously. That still stuns me, the whole story!

Juss kidding. She works 10 hrs a day. And the six rescues we have at home are too many for her now.
Gives me an excuse to pull over and take a break every 3-4 hrs. Bottle feed the baby.

State of florida 22+ yrs. She started with DOC. Secretarial, (not a prison guard.) She moved to DOT when they started privatizing the DOC prisons.

I was wonderin' how your furry travel companions were responding to this... it does take kitties a little while to accept someone new. He's so little. I really hope he makes it!

If the boy is going to be a Trucking Kitty, She has to accept him. She rejected Astro when we tried. But chose Jessi.
Only diff. Jess was a kitten, Astro was ovee 1 yr old.

Good old Walmart is there in a pinch....Do you drive an 18 wheeler? U- turning them can't be easy. Going to think of a name for miss/mr miracle....

9 wheeler during that high speed u turn. Lol. Yes 18. Almost as big of a miracle as the kitten not being hit was the wide spot in the middle of nowhereville.

This mornings bottle feeding went a little better. Warmed milk in microwave. Little guy seemed to take it better.

The Mama cat may have started bring them kill food already.
See if he will lap off a saucer with a little soaked cat food.
Yes, you nailed it. I said 4-5, my wife is better with kittens, she said 3-4 too.
Eyes just opening, very shaky, tried saucer. It is still in carrier. Will try gravey wet food mash each day. Sammi was about a week further along.
So i am right to force the milk slightly right?
He needs the energy to pull thru this trauma / stress. I think he took a hard shot to thr head. Lump is gone. Still scab there. Looks to be clean healing.

Never have enough good photos. I was using an eye dropper to feed baby Dexter. We just couldn't get the nack with the bottle. Down the road mix some dry food in the milk solution, so it's all liquid.

Amazing no one stopped to rescue this little guy until you came along. Did you find the Mamma cat that was hit? I know you said she was dead. I hope he didn't have brothers and sisters. If so they probably didn't make it without their Mamma. Sad but I'm glad you rescued him.
