RE: Philippines pollution concerns creates tidal wave of concern

in #parley-news7 years ago

Since Boracay is shutting down for a major clean up, I'm guessing most - if not all tourists would either cancel or change their travel destination and Cebu is definitely one of those major destinations.

Sort:

Once the word gets out that other resort destinations (like Palawan) might close or restrict numbers of tourists, many international visitors just might decide to go elsewhere like Thailand or Vietnam.

I just read an article on Zerohedge recently that said there is metric tons of plastic on the northern Polar cap oceans in areas that should not have any trash at all. The article also stated that fish and sea birds are all now part plastic because of this pollution. That even young fish and birds can be found with a large percentage of plastic in their stomachs.

Want a drink of water?

The Earth is getting nasty for sure! You'd think with our "worldly" education, we would have had this all figured out by now!

Exactly! This is getting scary and sad at the same time. However even with the right technology, if people are not disciplined enough to manage their trash, its not going to get us any further.

Without education and strict compliance and law enforcment, it will only get worse.
