Question for parents.. specifically Mothers

in #parenting7 years ago

Is there such a thing as loving your child "too much"? I know there's so many layers to this question but right now I'm just focusing on the smaller layer 🙂 Am I doing too much by waking up my 4 year old out of her wonderful, deep slumber just to tell her "I love you"? ... I just wanted her to make sure she knew that momma loves her. So, then I got to thinking, surely I can not be the only mother on earth who does this.. who wakes up their precious, quiet, sleeping angel just to remind them that before the day ends, 'mommy loves you'...
I find myself always reassuring her that I love her and that she's the best thing this world has to offer. That's "normal" right? That's what all mothers do? 🤷🏼‍♀️
Either way, I'm just happy she knows that I love her #1 and more importantly, #2, that she went right back to sleep 😊

And even more important, #3 let's hope that youre not doing this regularly :p. From the perspective of a son, I would tell my mom I love her too (you know, because I do) but I would mostly just be annoyed. :P. You can tell that to your child when it wakes up instead or before it sleeps. :)

Hahaha! I know the day will soon come where she won't even want to be seen next to me so I think I take advantage. I will consider not waking her up too often. Thanks for the feedback!

Children inspire all of us to do wacky things. I come home late from work and always whisper in my children's ears. Sometimes it's "I love you" and sometimes it's "You green little monster, go to sleep before I take away your birthday."

I knew I couldn't be the only one! ♥️
