I am SavvySara... and in a nutshell... I am a multicultural mom and wife.
My husband is from Europe and I am American and we are living in Africa with our beautiful children… and many more to come. 😉
I’ve literally circumnavigated the world, chatting to parents with fascinating ways of parenting and then selected and test-driven some choice approaches on my own children… and now am here to share the results and help you gain a global-perspective to parenting along with easy ways to apply the same approaches in your own home, no matter which culture or country you are from.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Everything you do, including how you raise your kids, is a choice. If your tired of seeing kids in your culture doing the same old naughty things… but then your using the same culturally accepted techniques to raise your kids but expecting DIFFERENT results…. perhaps because you expect your magical genes to supersede those of literally everyone else. Then I would suggest that you have gone insane.
Just the same as in-breeding results abnormalities that cause limitations on the off-spring. If we are close minded and in-bread with our approaches on how to parent our children… when we only look to our closest family and friends for advice… when we make decisions based on “that is just how life is or how your supposed to do it”… then we will limit the potential of our children.
I suggest we make a conscious decision to be COUNTER-CULTURAL and ABNORMAL.
This means you have to WAKE UP - get your head out of the clouds and stop being shaped and molded by every opinion of those around you. Take the time to get some clarity and perspective… find a variety of options... and make a conscious decision.
You know how it goes - from the moment you tell people that you are pregnant the opinions start rolling in. You shouldn’t eat deli or sushi or cheese because the baby could get sick… but you should eat more because your eating for two… When the baby’s born make sure you don’t spoil them too much, so you better teach them to sleep on their own quickly or your life will never return to normal… And the list goes on and on...
Now I am not suggesting that you go off the rails and making drastic un-founded decisions that could have a dramatic consequences for your children.
But OPEN YOUR EYES. And put some time and effort into learning about other ways of doing things.
Now I know what your going to say - 'I have a new-born… or a busy toddler… or a chatty pre-schooler… so WHEN am I supposed to take the time to do all you suggest?’
Thats why I, Savvy Sara, am here to help. I’ve done the hard work for you… so follow me and I’ll teach you more from:
- HOLLAND on how to build a genuine, open and honest communication with my children where you can talk about ANYTHING!
- JAPAN on how to breed gentleness and kindness.
- ZANZIBAR on how laughter is the key to health, body and mind.
- THE USA on how to foster an intrinsic drive in your children that will motivate them to shoot for the stars.
Along with some key topics, including:
- Raising bilingual children (even when your not bilingual yourself).
- Tricks of the trade for building a long-distance family.
- Traveling with young children... and not losing your mind!!
And much, much more....
And if I haven't listed it... don't be shy to request it!
Until Next Time...
