Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a FREE program that mails children books monthly to kids all over the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia!
The program aims to stimulate the desire and love of reading in children under the age of five by providing age-appropriate books each month. The books are mailed directly to the child's home and it's addressed to the child(ren) specifically!
By supplying books free to children, Dolly Parton "could ensure that every child would have books, regardless of their family's income." (Dolly Parton Imagination Library--Our Vision)
If you live in one of the above mentioned countries and have a child (or multiple children) under the age of five, you can check your area's availability.
Go to the Imagination Library and click on "Register My Child" at the top of the page. Enter your country and address to see if you're in an area that qualifies for program.
If you are not in an area that participates in the program, leave your name and email address and they will email you when it becomes available. If you'd like to help fund and start a program, you can click "Start a Program" at the top of the page to get more information on how to do that.
Don't forget to let your friends and family know, reading is such a key part to building great skills like imagination and critical thinking, emotions and language development.
Leave a comment letting me know if you were previously registered or if you just registered. If the program isn't available in your area, post a comment saying you signed up for the notifications and let me know where you are located. I'm hopeful that if enough people express interest there won't be a single area this program doesn't service.

This sounds like such a good service! I'm very keen to promote reading to children. Catch their interest early!
Me too! I feel if we allow our children to read and give them books they love or that have good story lines and lessons they will love reading and what a wonderful way to grow mentally and intellectually!
