The panda bear, a cute bear that eats bamboo all day long. But also a bear that has a significant meaning for me. A long time ago, when I used to do Western horse riding, I fell off the horse during a lesson. I didn't come out of it unscathed; the result was two broken wrists. You can imagine that having two arms in casts doesn't make mobility easy, and I needed help with everything.
One evening, during dinner, I tried to open a jar of applesauce. I put the jar between my knees and tried to twist the lid off with my casted hand. It was a hopeless mission, but my husband, who was sitting next to me, apparently found it amusing. He thought I looked like a sitting panda bear, eating bamboo. Since then, my husband calls me Panda, and let's face it, there are worse nicknames to have.
That's why I not only find pandas cute, but they also represent a period in my life when things weren't easy, but with a bit of humor, you can go a long way.
