RE: The Marketing Value Of "Tribes"

in #palnet6 years ago

I agree with you wholeheartedly on what Tribes can bring to the Steem blockchain. I just launched my first Tribe using Steem Engine at http://sportstalk.social. While it's very early for these projects right now you can easily see the vision you outlined above. I look forward to seeing this become less of a vision and more of a reality over the coming months and years!

That is terrific. What a terrific topic. You certainly hit upon a large audience there.

I like what is taking place. Now there is another option by linking your tag to a post. All part of expanding communities.

It is and it isn't. I've been surprised with how limited sports coverage has been on Steem. While there are some excellent accounts that post regularly and have great content I don't feel like I see enough here. That's what I hope this can change. I hope that with a new incentive that users will want to bring content they are currently delivering to other blockchains like Scorum or sprts to have a home directly on Steem.

I know a lot of people that play fantasy football. It seems that a platform like Steem is totally ready for that kind of thing.

That's awesome @diggndeeper.com! I'd love to have them start sharing with the #sportstalk tag. We also even have a tag listing just for Fantasy sports so they'll be very welcome to talk here. BTW I also just sent you some SPORTS to try out the platform too!

Steem is still a small place, smaller than people think. These tribes will have to stand on their own, where they act as an individual sites. Steem and steem engine will just be a tech operating on the background.

Nitrous could become like a wordpress but with tokens!

This is one that would interest me as I would be a sports guy. It would also be possible to take a lot of users from the scorum site as well. That seems to be dying off where as a tribe on STEEM would have a lot more to offer.

I completely agree @niallon11! I actually checked their stats the other day and was blown away with how small they've become. It goes to show that exchange support is huge for cryptos. That's easily the most overlooked benefit that SE provides is liquidity for new tokens.

I just sent you 10 SPORTS so you can be a part of the community. Feel free to jump over to sportstalk.social to give it a spin!

Golden opportunity for a bit of guerilla marketing ;)

I will thanks. I might start a thread on Irish sports over time and convert a few people to hurling and football.

I'll definitely be interested in reading and writing sports as well which I think is a big category missing on STEEM. Going forward I can see a lot less crypto talk as we diversify into tribes and find more of what we are interested in rather than the mix we have right now.
