Hi everyone, trying out PalNet.io for the first time! I have been away on holiday in Barcelona for a while and may share some photos in the near future. I want to share one of the drawings I did before I left of one of my favourite characters on Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister and the process that went into creating it.
I started with perspective lines and the general outline.
Added some basic dark tones.
More detailed dark tones added.
Details added to the face.
Final touches before finish.
Finished!
I drew it on A3 paper and took me several hours to complete. I used a range of pencils, graphite stick (for dark tones) and rubber for highlights. I think he is quite expressive and wanted to capture his deep in thought, slightly confused and scared expression.
Thanks for checking out my work!

That is really awesome, I can imagine that you spent so much time on working of details, that was worth to do it. It is sometimes when you work on your favorite topic you spend hours but it feels like minutes. Beautifully done eyes, eyebrows and I like how you did the nose. Those facial details are always something that take a lot of time and at the end if you make it right the result is stunning!
PS: of course the pattern of his outfit looks so beautiful too :) Well done, Ian!
Thanks Stef. You're right it didn't feel like hours because I enjoyed the process but the outfit pattern did feel repetitive. :)

It takes a lot of time to make this kind of art work. As I know I spend a whole night to make a Titanic sketch. But the end results was very satisfactory. So I was happy.
You did a great job here.
I can see the efforts you put in each and every place from his hair to his expressions!
Thanks, I know what you mean bit it's worth it in the end!
I have never watched Game of Thrones, but your drawing is fantastic. I love to see these step by step posts. It makes me think I can do it too, even though I know I would never be this good. Even your background has depth, and I think the hair would be quite difficult to get so realistic.
Thanks, you should watch it and never say never with enough practice you can reach this level!
Holy heaven! That's the best artwork I've seen featuring Game of Thrones characters! It looks exactly like Tyrion Lannister! You are really talented. So detailed and the face expression is excellent. By the way, he's my favorite character and love the actor too. Palnet I still have to figure it out but I'll get to it these days. Excellent job, keep it up!
Thanks!
My pleasure.

You did a great job with this drawing.
It certainly captures Tyrion's conflicting looks.
I'm surprised at how you started it, so blurry and sketchy. It makes the final result even more impressive.
Thanks! Yeah I start with a rough sketch.
Wow great drawing and really cool to see the process! I heard about palnet but still need to try it and read the blogs about it :)
Thanks! Yeah have a go.
