The Arab Peace Initiative is an initiative launched by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia for peace in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians. Whose goal was to establish an internationally recognized Palestinian state on the 1967 borders and the return of refugees and a withdrawal from the occupied Golan Heights in return for recognition and normalization of relations between the Arab states and Israel in 2002. The Arab peace initiative was announced at the Arab summit in Beirut. This initiative has received Arab support. Following is the text of the Arab peace initiative: "The Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level, held at its fourteenth session, as affirmed by the Extraordinary Arab Summit Conference held in Cairo in June 1996 that a just and comprehensive peace is a strategic choice for the Arab States. Having heard the speech of Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, through which he announced his initiative calling for Israel's full withdrawal from all Arab territories occupied since 1967, in implementation of my decision Security Council (242 and 338) Which were reinforced by the Madrid Conference resolutions of 1991 and the principle of land for peace and by the acceptance of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, in exchange for the establishment by the Arab States of normal relations within the framework of a comprehensive peace with Israel.
