Live Painting a Movie Premiere

in #painting7 years ago

In 2012 I created a painting for Momentum pictures. It was a live painting that took me 7 and a half hours to accomplish to record the Gambit premiere. The film was about a painting heist so it was pretty apt that I was to create a painting for the event live on the red carpet. This was in 2012 and later after that I began painting for a few weddings too.
The painting raised £3100 for Children In Need in the auction a few days after the event which was great. I got to meet Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman (RIP) and Colin Firth as I painted them live. They did not hang around long on the red carpet so I had to paint in an impressionistic style.

and here I am in front of the completed painting ready for a glass of prosecco before I got the train home from London to the Welsh capital Cardiff.
