Hi friends! :)
Yesterday was my very first painting class at Art n' Vino. I'm not really much of an artist, but our instructor, Andrea, was AWESOME and the wine was tasty! Allow me to take you on a journey of my super fun evening:
NIGHT WATCH
#1 - Here is the finished product hanging on my wall. Ready to see how it was done??
#2 - Upon entering the room, there were easels everywhere, snacks, painting supplies, and a DISCO BALL!
#3 - Obligatory wine glass shot!
#4 - The sketch that our instructor created for us on the ALMOST blank canvas.
#5 - Starting out on the painting journey!
#6 - It's getting there! As a perfectionist, it was very difficult to let go and just paint through the imperfections.
#7 - Almost done! All that was left to do was finish up the highlighting.
#8 - And voila! We're done! We had such a great time. I can't wait to go back again next week!
Stay tuned for my next painting adventure! Next Friday's class will be painting "The Dandelion Princess!"
Much Love,
Kim
(All pictures were taken by me on my iPhone, except for the final group picture. This was taken by our instructor, and you can find it on the following website: https://www.facebook.com/ArtnVino/photos/a.187909781345385.46593.185298038273226/1094634007339620/?type=3&theater)
keep going! I believe drawing and painting is such a good creative way to express oneself (particulary if you are working in an different field of art as a professional... its a good complement, because the pressure to succeed is missing)
Thanks! That's nice to hear from a real artist, such as yourself! I've never been terribly good at drawing or painting, but having someone give me a base sketch seemed to help unlock a lot of cool techniques I didn't know I had! I'll tag you in my next one to get your opinion!
I think - as in the most arts - there is less talent and more practice (and especially the ability to have fun to practice or sometimes to endure to repeat things). As for me, I absolutely love to sing... but (sigh) there I would need a good teacher (not much voice on my side) So I admire your ability to sing!!!!!
And I like to see your artwork! And I am not a professional painter... I am a choreographer :-D (making mostly short animation films with dance), I paint for fun.
A choreographer?! Oh my gosh! That's so awesome! We are more alike than you know. I work with choreographers frequently in the musical theatre scene. :) Let's keep in touch!
Wow, I think you do such things on a greater scale :-D I work with freelance actors and dancers and at the moment we are making more short films, because its not profitable to produce life performances.
I think that's incredibly awesome! Keep following your dreams!
