A Sneak Peek
By IAmWade
Just a little teaser of what I am working on right now! The concept is to recreate the limited edition Venom #1 cover in red foil edition but with trippy moving background. Not sure how I'll do it just yet but the first thing to do is re-create the basic asset. Once I finish that it should be just a matter of picking the right technology for the job. Why am I doing this you might ask? Well, quite simply, ever since digital kitties came out I have been perplexed with the concept of limited edition digital prints. Yes Digi-kitties was simple and pretty much a flash in the pan but to me it was much more. It was a proof of concept I could easily see applied on a much larger scale to eliminate the paper print industry.
One of the main things that make print still viable is the ability to create a limited edition. A published edit and unless republished, a one of a kind run. With digital media so easily copied, imagine if something like a playing card(gaming/trading cards) or even a comic could be created digitally and published on a blockchain in a truly limited edition. A limited edition digital asset that is backed up by a block chain for public record. A digital copy, say 1 in 10,000 that could be bought, sold, or even traded with a public ledger to verify true ownership.
Instead of a digital wallet, one could have a digital "trapper keeper" (a little throwback to all my 80's-90's kids) to collect all of their collectible digital assets. How awesome would that be? And would it not also be another awesome use of block chain technology? If I could code beyond web languages I'd try and make it myself but sadly this old dog hasn't learned that new trick just yet. So I art and put my ideas out there and maybe there is a team somewhere way ahead of me. In the meantime I hope you like the start of this project and I will keep at it. Off to a dinner party and then I'll be back to try and finish this up. Until then be blessed!
I love your idea about the collectible arts on the blockchain - I think it would be a really cool use of the technology! I love this new painting you're working on - this is coming along really well! I can't wait to see how it comes out when you finish :)
