Ole Man Claude

Ole man Claude was a poor ole man
and he spent many nights in the rain
Poor ole Claude was a funny ole man
and he always sipped the cheap champagne
and it didn't matter much
that he couldn't read or write
He learned enough to know
how to 'fly like a kite'
and he didn't even know when it rained
nope he didn't even know when it rained

Ole man Claude used to be a family man
but he didn't really fit the role
He couldn't really help now that he lived in the street
it was all the drinkin' that put him in the cold
and he didn't really mind
sleeping with the trash
he would have liked to smoke too
but he didn't have the cash
but he didn't even know it was cold
no he never didn't even know it was cold

Well it was late one night, and the time seemed right
since the green light meant he could go
cause he had to hurry up to catch his flight
but ole man Claude didn't know
and it didn't matter much
that he stepped out in the street
just another homeless man swept off of his feet
and he didn't even know when to go
nope he didn't even know when to go
