Super post, great suggestions
I am organic grower also. Here we have fire ants whose bites are toxic, painful and potentially dangerous to humans and vegetation, decimating plants in a short time span. Yikes!
Our solutions include cinnamon powder (cassia) as a barrier. Sugar and Boric acid powder mixed (dries them out from the inside and non-toxic to humans) when you wish to move their home away from human working and walking traffic areas

I didn't know cinnamon would work. Nice idea!
Sounds like preflavoring for my next project - I'll feed them sugar like richq11 suggests, sprinkle them with your cinnamon and pour melted chocolate down their nest ( instead of molten aluminum )
Turn the little fellas into a tasty cash crop of sweetened cinnamon chocolate ants! If we could figure out a way to get cherries and pretzels into this mix we might be on to something here - lol
hahaha -- that sounds like a plan!
