Here this weeks entry into my favorite Steemit Contest!
Grateful to be here on Steemit and playing in another week of Steemit Open Mic Night!
I have been saying for a couple months now that I feel this is one of the best projects going on Steemit, as music transcends language and brings people together!

When I was in Japan I played at open jams with a bunch of Japanese musicians that barely spoke english. What we lacked in verbal communication, we more than made up for when jamming.
Openmic is probably the best Contest on Steemit IMO. It has all the goodies!
It was the first contest I ever entered back when it was week 1. Wasn't that your first entry too @quineaker? I think that's the first time I ever saw your Digi playing!
@luzypher, believe it or not, Openmic was one of the major factors that kept me here on Steemit. It gave me the opportunity to put my original demos out and myself as a vocal performer, which I hadn't the balls to do prior.
Now look at me lol ;)
@jaybird I'm so happy to hear you playing music and teaming up with @dan-atstarlite to form @steembirds is really exciting. I think you guys rock!
Comments like yours make me feel so good and let me know that Open Mic is doing what we set out to do. Build community and have some fun!

Ya dude, it's been a real blast so far. It's pretty special since without steemit existing I can honestly say that Dan and I would never have formed a band together.
And I definitely think Open Mic is crushing it. It always has actually IMO. Just now it's exploded beyond containment haha.
It was the ONLY thing that kept me on Steemit, @jaybird... Glad you felt that way a bit too...

You have always been a strong supporter of the music scene on Open Mic. I feel the love and return it in kind.
Yeah, you're right about the Open Mic being one of the most exceptional events on Steemit – for the reasons you mentioned, and also for the invitation to express creativity. To me, this is more and more vital in modern times, to exercise our creative thinking ability. And by "creative thinking" I'm really talking about accessing that heartspace and operating out of love, and then relying on brain power to extend the messages of the heart. This is what the Open Mic offers for me, in addition to the connection, and the benefit of experiencing the music.

Definitely agree that this is one of the coolest projects on Steemit. I love how supportive this community is and love having the ability to help creative types earn some real world value for the contributions. Not to metion we've got some awesome talent here. Really cool.

The best part is we are all doing this together. So much fun watching the community grow and support each other. Plus, we get music. Double awesome!
