Walkin' Cain
I couldn't stay away! A last minute entry of a song that I have not practiced or played in quite a while... My voice is still painful/weak but it occurred to me that this was one I might be able to perform because there are not really any high notes. Not my best performance of this song by any means, but I think I may have a recording that I did years ago. I will upload it when I find it!
It happens to me sometimes that I write a song and then after it is done I realize that either the title is a play on words or the lyrics, or both.
This song happened one night when I saw about ten minutes of a Public Television special called something like "Walking the Bible" (I may or may not have been interacting with a sacred plant at the time)... a guy was talking about the stories in the bible and was on the ground in the Middle East pointing out real places that correlated to the passages.
This is not something that would normally interest me so after hearing him talk about the story of Cain and Able and all that, I turned it off.
Well as happens to me sometimes, this got stuck in my head somewhere and this blues tune came out. When it was done I realized that the title is a play on the folk song "Walking Cane". I have never actually heard the song but a friend sang a verse of it to me once and I remember the first line was "take me down my walking cane"...
I come down
A walkin' Cain
I been around
Had my way
To Canaan lord
I cast my eye
The road is long
The air is dry
I come down
Bring me here
A skin of wine
My love the Earth
The desert sky
I come down
To this land
I come down
Hell yeah
A walkin' Cain
Peace
you are taste! Huge love my friend quality.... wooooo
Thanks Bonnie !

So glad you got in just under the deadline. I wouldn't want to miss this. Great performance.
Hey thanks man, I wasn't sure, I knew Saturday was the day, but I thought I may be late...I forgot how long it takes to upload to youtube!
Peace
Hell yeah! So is this a whole new competition?
Nah just my entry for this week's openmic...this tune is from probably between 7-10 years ago.
Thanks for checking it out!
Peace
Loved the youtube video too - great collaboration! Have you ever made an album?
Never have but I did find a couple of home recordings recently that I will be posting...
Peace
Ah - interacting with sacred plants and the like... Ha! ...and from me to you, my friend - yet another big "Ahh", for gracing me with some more home-grown quintessential "OneTrueBrother!"
Hell Yeah! So cool the way you describe this whole piece coming together, dude!
My truest of brothers, I trust you won't mind that given your "just under the wire" entry, that I have already set into place my selections and honorable mentions for week 69.
As such, in my never-ending quest to give new blood and others some much-needed love and exposure, I do hope that you understand precisely why it is that you are not "automatically" showing up in my top-10.
Cause I know - that you know, bro - that you are always in my top-ten - EIGHT-DAYS-A-WEEK, brother!
This was an awesome composition, and I truly loved it! You rock, One-True - from here-to-forever, man!
Thank you brother no worries on the openmic picks ...(ex-friend...) ha ha!
Just happy to be here man. I didn't think I was going to record anything until yesterday (Fri) afternoon and by the time it uploaded I thought it was probably too late anyway.
Thanks as always for checking me out and for the good vibes1
Peace and Love my friend

Now that the awkward fan meeting is over - glad you made it! Particularly enjoying those stories you're sharing in your posts along with the videos.
