Here is our song for the open mic, week 39.
It's called "500 miles", and it is a old folk song about a traveller who is far from home, out of money, and too ashamed to return.
We hope You like it :)
Tamar&Netanel.
Lyrics:
If you miss the train I'm on, you will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow five hundred miles
A hundred miles, a hundred miles, a hundred miles, five hundred miles
You can hear the whistle blow five hundred miles.
Lord I'm one, Lord I'm two, Lord I'm three, Lord I'm four
Lord I'm five hundred miles from my home.
Away from home, away from home, away from home, away from home
Lord I'm five hundred miles from my home.
Not a shirt on my back, not a penny to my name
Lord I can't go back-home this a-way
This a-away, this a-way, this a-way, this a-way
Lord I can't go back-home this a-way.
If you miss the train I'm on you will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow five hundred miles.
This is one of my favorite songs from the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack. It sounds like that's the rendition you chose to do! Very nice work!
Cheers
Thank you, we loved that movie.

Thank you too :)
I first heard this song while watching Inside Llewyn Davis a while back. It is a beautiful song and you two totally nailed it. Excellent performance.
Me too! (Llewyn Davis)
This is a beautiful version. I love the violin.
Thank, we love that movie.
Very beautiful music guys. The violin is complimenting the whole feeling so well.
Thank you

Greeting from France
Thank you very much :)
Thanks for playing Steemit Open Mic again. Love it.
Thank you, again :)
Beautiful fiddle playing and utterly charming vocals. I was doing this song (not as well I hasten to add!) 50 years ago. so it brings back a lot of memories for me. The most recent folk festival I attended (Stepping Stones in Cumbria) could have done with you guys, they would have loved you. Well done both, and I look forward to hearing future contributions. If I had enough followers to make it worthwhile I would resteem it. I play pedal steel and dobro etc. so if you ever need any!
Dear Geoff,
Thank you very much, you sound so good on the dobro and pedal steel!
we are actually working on our second album now, and we might need a pedal steel player, it's so nice of you to offer..
We will definitely be in touch,
Tamar&Netanel.
