Yeah i just saw the changes, i figured this was necessary due to the big amount of entries, it would almost be impossible to check all of them out (pretty sure i cant lol)...
Have you thought on splitting the contest in categories?... Such: Covers , Originals, Vocal Performance, Instrumental Performance etc?... That could help to judge and keep track of the entries in an organized way... (just an idea)
Cheers!
We're working on something like that which is why the rules ask for the word 'Original" to be added to the title for original songs and why we ask for the second tag to be originalmusic if it is an original song. There are good reasons for the rules. Also, we changed the title and verbal intro to "Steemit Open Mic Week 42" so that the videos on YouTube promote Steemit and the Google search engine will promote Steemit and the contest. There's a method to the madness.
Wow thats cool!... THis is getting really huge, i didnt realized about the search thing, but suddenly, if i type "dreamrafa" in google search, all my steemit post drops out, and that is so cool, steemit is dominating google search :D
That's right. If you search 'steemit open mic" in google many results come up. By saying the words at the beginning if a video not only does it verify the entry, it also shows up in search results and potentially attracts more musicians who may google search it when they see a video on YouTube.
Yep, hopefully more people will come!... I also use to put the steemit logo in the thumbnail image :D
I noticed and that's a great idea. We are currently forming a dedicated panel of judges for the contest and a site to promote outside of Steemit to bring in more musicians to the Steemit platform through the contest.
Then we may be able to make an app we can promote to musicians kind of like Busker but with Steem instead of money.
