I did a Google search of the image (I know,I should have recognized them, but I didn't). Wow did I come up with some interesting bits of information. The consensus seems to be that Ceauşescu was ill served by the sycophants that surrounded him. All painted a rosy picture of a country that was in desperate straits. To the end, he thought supporters would come to his rescue (that's what most reports state)--because he had no idea of the reality that existed for his people. Makes me think of Trump's televised Cabinet meetings, with all the kudos and ata-boys directed at him.
