I know this is a very sensitive subject for all of us. What surprises me the most is the dichotomy of COVID-19 crisis.
What do I mean?
Well, I understand that this is a global crisis and that we're all in this together, but at the same time it represents a very personal and intimate crisis for each and every one of us.
Hearing all the horrible news every day sparks up my anxiety and makes me realize how much I enjoyed my everyday life... I'm not talking just about the big things like travelling...
Let me explain!
• After being cooped up for so long, I catch myself thinking of having a wonderful dessert on a terrace of a wonderful small cafe in a crowded city centre of Zagreb, basking in the afternoon sun.
Just watching people passing by in a hurry, talking to their phones, carrying shopping bags, or nervously trying to find a table so they can sit down and enjoy a hot cup of much needed cappuccino.
I can already taste the warm crust of a freshly made crème brûlée...

It's funny how you start to realize just how much you miss the things you had taken for granted. Meeting friends for a quick run in a local park, and going for a beer afterwards (or two), while complaining how long does it take us to get in shape...
• So, going for a run with my mates, trying to remain silent during our run and dedicated to jogging, while thinking of that cold beer that awaits me later on.

• But the thing I miss the most, the most important to me, what makes me feel excited and emotional at the same time is visiting my parents at their house in the countyside.
Every Friday afternoon, after a busy and hectic week at work, I would drive for at least a quick visit. I can't even begin to explain how much I miss spending time with them, and how excited I am of seeing them the moment these restrictions are lifted!
My mom will be in the house getting the table ready for a feast, as she always does... Scents of homemade gnocchi with mushroom sauce make me salivate even now just thinking about it!

Dad will be outside waiting in the yard with some clever joke about my parking and grinning.
After dinner, we will talk about our week, with a thousand questions about my job and private life.
You look so pale! Have you been eating enough vegetables??
I do enjoy our rituals!
Can you relate?
Hopefully, this isolation period won't last long. During this period I learned a lot about myself. How patient I can be, how blessed I am for having so many wonderful people in my life.
I hope we all stay healthy, and emerge stronger, grateful and humble!
What are the things that drive you during these hard times? What is it you will do as soon as this crisis is over? Would like to hear from you, be sure to comment!
I would wish to thank @derangedvisions for #WhenCoronaEnds initiative.
Stay safe, my friends!
