Hello happy Friday all ! I’m making this post after doing some research on colour theory and the meanings of colours. I came across an article about a woman who loves everything yellow and likes to collect everything she can in yellow like clothing, furniture and she even had a yellow coloured wedding.
I found her on an article about a few different people who have a similar infatuation with a certain colour. There is a woman ( Ella London) who also loves green and one who loves pink too. From the article it stated that she started to collect yellow objects and wearing more yellow after the passing of her father who passed when she was a child and his favourite colour was yellow. She wore it to remember him by and to bring a little bit of him into her life. I was feeling inspired after reading about her and decided to make a moodboard.
In terms of psychological perspective it shows that her connection to the colour yellow actually has its roots in personal colour association which is one of the three main ways we relate to colour (the other two being colour symbolism and colour psychology). She also enjoyed wearing it and started to wear yellow everyday. The colour also lifted her mood and made the people around her happy too.
Although, according to colour theorists the colour yellow can have the opposite effect and cause problems for the nervous system. The colour theory also says that yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy, but on the other, it represents cowardice and deceit. It is also used in advertisement for food products as its believed it can cause hunger especially when paired with red.
