Totem with 14 animals

Hello and good morning to all.
Apologies for the lack of posts these last couple weeks, I've been busy with family.

Today I'd like to share a piece I just finished up.

A 15 foot tall totem with 14 animals carved into it.

Here is what the stump looked like beforehand. My customer has many ash trees in her yard that were killed off by the emerald ash borer. So she decided to get a few of them carved.

I started on the bottom with this bear.

The next day I bought a bakers scaffold and carved a few more animals as high as I could reach.

Needed to rent a boom lift to get the rest of the tree stump. But it was the 4th of July so I waited until after the holiday to do so.

Client wanted a pileated woodpecker to attach at the top of the stump, as well as a raccoon. Carved those throughout the weekend.

On the last day I detailed the animals as well as painted them and varnish to finish it off.

The end result was a very happy customer who invited me back to carve another stump in the near future.
