A kind of successful evening.

I have visited Marazion and St Michaels Mount numerous times over the years, but I’ve never been truly happy with the shots I’ve got, mainly because of the time of day I’ve visited, which has been mid summer and mid day, with blaring sun.
So while I’m in Cornwall, I made the conscious decision of going there at a different time of day.
I’m staying around 25 miles from the mount, and it’s dual carriageway 95 percent of the journey so doesn’t take long to get there.

I’d had a shot in mind for ages, a lovely milky way shot, with the mount illuminated, as I’ve seen on pictures online. I hung around until it was dark, but the mount never got lit up, not sure if this was because it was a sunday, or maybe I didn’t stay there long enough. The second thing to scupper my plans was the full moon, which was directly in line with the milky way core, for when it was visible,.
My other idea was to wait until midnight as the full moon would be passing directly over the top of the mount, however, I was bursting for the loo and the public toilets were closed.

So, I called it a day and headed back to the digs, and on closer inspection, I’m more than happy with this shot.

More photos to follow soon.
