My soft pastel drawing: Save Our Souls!

in #ocd-resteem7 years ago (edited)

Hello my dear Steemians,

I am glad that today is Saturday because two days ago I started my drawing but as it was quite busy days I had no chance to finish it till today. I was waiting for weekend with great anticipation, as usually Iwould like to enjoy my whole day therefore, even if it is weekend and I would like to stay longer in bed, I try to get up at 8, enjoy my breakfast with nice, hot coffee and the rest of the day I am back to my favorite hobby: drawing or painting.

As I told before it was about two days ago when I started my drawing, I thought I will tell you a little story with my drawing. I was always amazed how some of the drawing or painting can capture people, who just stand in front as hypnotized and everyone has his own interpretation and feeling, that they taking home from such exhibitions. As I mentioned before I love sea motives because it is never looks the same and it can be wonderful and people love to be on board, but if disaster happens then it is so dramatic and quick, it is real catastrophe.

So my drawing this time included that scene, I would like you to look and feel what people who are in this situation feeling and what are their thoughts. I called my drawing: Save Our Souls (SOS):

Here are few steps, I used Mi-Teintes Touch paper, soft pastel sticks and pencils:

Super stef1.

Powerful! I've always had such a hard time working with pastels. Touching anything chalky makes me feel uncomfortable.

Thanks for sharing you work! Looking forward to seeing more :)

I know what you mean, I have to clean my fingers all the time, so I have wet paper tower and dry, it is sometimes frustrating but at the end you forget about it and grab again pastels for next work

Looking at these high waves, you begin to value your life much more but the picture is great as always, you are gifted by nature.

Thank you @kristinaljfom for your nice words and for visiting my post

Spectacular... You captured the atmosphere of catastrophe and fury of nature so beautifully. love it .... Enjoy your Sunday , @stef1 :)

I am glad you visiting my drawing, it is my favorite, this motive I was planning to do long time ago but was not sure what medium to use. Till recently when I got more comfortable I decided to try pastel and it worked very well, I am glad I use pastel at the end. I love to draw a scene and such natural fury brings adrenaline level up :)

Yes , I understand about the adrenaline levels. I recently painted a seascape titled "Rage" :D :D...
Your understanding and control over pastels and pencils is superb , @stef1 :)

que gran arte @stef1

Thank you very much for viewing my post!
