Ditto, my city is a drab place compared to this!
I first came across a picture of the Astana Pyramid and the phoenix-like bird on reddit and though there were a few comments about symbols, there were probably 50 comments and almost nobody picked up on the masonic presence. I just checked it out on a whim and was kinda floored by it. Even the travel writers for the Guardian and GQ never mention the obvious symbolism.
I think the people of Kazahstan may have there own opinions about the architecture that they keep to themselves. I certainly had the impression that it may be dangerous to speak your mind on certain topics especially since the dictator president had a hand in the design of many of the buildings himself.

Quite literally by the looks of the imprint at 97m.
I'd say most planned cities have a whole range of symbolism hidden away but capitals would have to take the lion's share considering their political purpose. It would be interesting to have a look at all capitals to see what overlaps. Washington is obviously crammed also.
Lol, really. I forgot about that for a second (face palm).
Apparently, the president's hand has been 'enhanced' and it's not quite that large. But it gives people the impression (literally) of the president as a god-like figure.
Bingo! I did washington last week and have researched several other capitals in Europe - Paris and London have major masonic symbology, no doubt. There are a few more I've been looking at too. It's quite wide-spread actually. Hiding in plain sight and all that.
Haha - does look a lot like "Total Recall" :)
