Oh right. I have heard that AMORC is pretty heavy into that. I've never been involved with them but I know several people who have been. While I have been a member of several esoteric orders over the years (Freemasonry, Golden Dawn, Martinism, OTO, etc...) my own alchemical and spagyric work has been through private mentoring, which also included interaction with the other private students of that mentor/teacher.
