ADIVAY FESTIVAL 2023

In Benguet we are celebrating the ADIVAY FESTIVAL. ADIVAY FESTIVAL was celebrated once a year at Wangal La Trinidad Benguet, in the month of December to share and unite with the 13 Municipality. The word ADIVAY mean "to come together". ADIVAY is the celebration of the 13 Municipality of Benguet; 1. La Trinidad (Strawberry festival)

In this said festival, we are promoting the cultures and traditions of Benguet. One or our culture is the "Bengian Dance" and we also practice the "watwat" where we are butchering pigs for the feast, the meat that is cater is just as big as bare hand and we cook using just a salt at the seasoning. There are also events that shows the talents of our fellow men like battle of the band, Mr. and Ms. Benguet, Benguet Got Talent and many more. Also we are displaying the products produce from each Municipalities what they are best at.

To symbolize the unity of all the Municipality, they make a booth to display each product and also to promote to the visitors, not just their products but also their tourist spots within their municipality. They also have a landscaping within each both showing the trade mark of their municipality. In each booth, it will not be completed without the trademark "Tapey" or Rice wine. Rice wine is not just for the drunkard person but we also use it for offerings to our ancestors.

Some booth shows the way of living in the mountain using the old way of cooking foods by having a fireplace, this fireplace is common in all the Municipality because in the Cordillera we are fun on drinking brewed coffee because the place that is in a cold altitude. We mostly drink 3-5 cups of coffee a day, that is the average coffee taken by the native.

We have also here what we cold "Buhaw" or in other term, it is a serpent eagle. This serpent eagle was display at the booth of the Municipality of Tuba.

We have also display of ethic attire but mostly what you can see today in the market is a modernized attire with additional design and also musical instruments that is gongs and solibao (drums) used when we are having a celebration like wedding,kanyaw and when we are thanking for good harvest of crops.

The Municipality of MANKAYAN, present also their big gong. Mankayan is well known for its copper, they are one of the mining producer of copper.

The Municipality of ATOK also promote it's good location for Eco Tourism sites like the Northern Blossom where you can view the beautiful scenery on the top of the mountain.

The Municipality of SABLAN the fruit capital of Benguet. Because of its good topography, many fruits are produce here like dragon fruits, lansones, star apple and many more.

The Municipality of BOKOD promotes tilapia production because of its wide fishpond and also they are the producer of electricity of Benguet because of the Ambuklao river. They also offer a tour at the river to roam around the river.

The Municipality of ITOGON also promotes it's hot springs and resorts.
