2017 in a nutshell! What got me into crypto!

2017 was a great year!! Im about to share some of the days in my life of 2017! As I was able to see quite a few places! I’ll share the way I got in to cryptocurrency. I’m currently in the Oil and Gas Industry as you may know the industry has seen a fair share of ups and downs! This is my first official downturn and it’s been a long one. It seems we are looking to slowly get out of it. Below is a pic for a offshore rig in Campeche Mexico.

While I’m traveling for work, i always make an effort to get to see the beauty that surrounds me. Below is a pic of the Andes mountain range in the Argentina region heading to the border of Chile!

And also get to capture stunning views of work!

And a little time to enjoy the local resources

Each area I travel to has its ups and down when it comes to the economy and politics that we deal with at times. Below is a pic in Colombia while trying to go to a rig visit and notable to enter due to tensions with local communities.

While in Venezuela and Colombia this is usually my means of transportation, an armoured car for safety precautions.

Venezuela used to at one time be one of the most prosperous and riches counties on Latin America and I can see them being one of the first countries to fully go to crypto. When I first started traveling to Venezuela the exchange rate for their bluDollar or Bolivar has an exchange rate of 1/250 in the so called black market. That exchange today is at 1/124,000 which is in about a 2 year time span and massive hyper inflation.

People there are starving and waiting in lines for hours to get basic needs and at most times wait in line just for those needs to run out.

Fuel is subsidized, in this pic is about 5 cents worth of fuel, and more than likely to be sold at the Colombia border.

Venezuela is a beautiful country with so much to offer, it will get back to its glory days eventually.

Venezuela and it’s currency exchange was always in the back of my mind. But it was when i was vacationing in Japan where the cryptocurency light bulb lit up as I was seeing that bitcoin was being accepted everywhere and I was eager to find out more about it, and this was this past October. 5397F2AE-591F-4FF0-8270-F9B7DA5B7CE2.jpeg

I’ve been doing tons of research since then and have set aside a portion of my overall investments to see where it goes as I can see this to be a way to better some countries like Venezuela and in other regions with massive hyperinflation as well as to better things in the world. It also wouldn’t hurt to make some great money to be able to continue to travel the world... to eat, live, and learn from and partkake in other cultures. ! Here are a few more pics from my 2017 travels and here is to a great and amazing 2018!!
