I've been switching to raw to help heal a ruptured vein in my stomach. I've been doing 1-2 smoothies a day, with melons in between and a raw meal for dinner. A nutritionist, Carla Golden, just gave me this advice:
"The smoothies are great. You might want to add veggie-only juices too. I don’t recommend juicing fruit, only blending fruit. Fruit needs to be ingested with its fiber. But green veggies are okay to consume without their fiber and the rich mineral alkalinity can help soothe inflammation. The greener, the better! Green veggies are the most alkalizing foods we can consume. "
