Out early this morning to find the exact spot of the sunrise over the mountains and did you know that birds can sing in gratitude before they have their breakfast?
I have assembled a collage of photos here about our new day over here at our cottage. All photos were taken right here as there are many trees, plants and flowers over here. Of course we are still busy unpacking and only every now and then I popped outside to take a photo.
Hope that you will enjoy the photos and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity.
I asked him his name and he said his name is Ginger!
Looks like a pigeon sitting up high on a road lamp post?
Oh! It is not a pigeon, it is in fact an Egyptian Goose sitting on the road lamp post!
Here's mister Robin singing his lovely melody!
And this is mister Red faced Mousebird trying his hand at a tune!
This flower is what the sunbirds like and soon I will get a sunbird drinking from it!
A little white Papillon (Butterfly) visited outside my window!
I started the post with a sunrise mountain and I end with a sunset mountain!
Wow! We thought the garden where we stayed previously was a paradise, but it is nothing compared to this new garden. There are 14 cottages in this complex and it is a security complex linked to armed security guards. There's a motorized steel sliding gate at the entrance and every resident has a remote control that opens and closes the gate.
Thankfully it doesn't feel like a prison as it is a fairly large area with much greenery and we are safe when we sleep at night. I really think that we will be very happy here.
We will continue to walk in gratitude and hope and we will also continue to try our best to bring about empowerment to poor families and persons. We all live but once and we simply have to make the best of every day. Oh yes, trouble will strike at every opportunity, but look at the birds and listen to their songs after every storm.
The birds have it much worse than us in the storms and yet, they will never stop singing.
Just so do I hope that everyone that actually reads this post will never stop singing in their hearts.
Thank you once again for your visit to a post by @papilloncharity
Beautiful photographs! It looks very colorful where you are at. The sunset was spectacular! I have an acquaintance who lives in Africa, and it sounds like he lives in a similar type compound. I'm glad you found someplace you like and that you feel safe. That is so important. I look forward to more of your pictures. Have a nice night.
Thank you for the great comment here and we live at the Southern tip of the African continent.
Unfortunately crime is rife here and we have to take precautions.
May you also have a good night.
Blessings!

Last one is extra beautiful. Well done! Well, all of them are good things I enjoy seeing and learning about.
Wow... You have captured perfect timing of breakfast...
Thank you and it's my first here at our new home.
Blessings!
Beautiful photography! I love capturing sunrises and sunsets with my camera!
Thank you and we share the love for sunrises and sunsets my friend.
Blessings!
What a delightful little Garden of Eden! Do you think Ginger has adopted you? Cats do that, you know! Love the shafts of light in that sunrise, and the warm tones in the sunset. It's sad that you need to have armed security, but I am glad that it gives you peace of mind at night.
Thank you and I do think that we will be happy here.
I don't think Ginger will come to us, as our little Troy will be a big problem for the cat. He has already claimed this new place as his own and he is very jealous of his territory.
South Africa is one of the countries with the biggest un-employment figures and crime is rampant over here. Every second family has been touched by crime and I was also robbed by guys that held a gun in my neck. So one has to be careful.
But life is good and we simply carry on with our charity work.
Blessings!
You have to look out for Troy. ginger can drop by to visit now and again. :-)
I can only imagine the terror of having a gun pointed at you. One of my sons was robbed at gunpoint a few years ago in Atlanta - in a French restaurant parking lot after having eaten dinner there, of all places. After the initial fear, he then had to deal with reporting stolen id's and credit cards. They never recovered any of his stuff, but his girlfriend's cards were retrieved when the guy was finally caught. His next victims were not so fortunate, but were killed. So we counted our blessings!
So sad to hear that your son also experienced it. But as time goes, so we get over it. I told the robbers that I will pray for them and a couple of weeks later the cops came to tell me that they have both been killed during another robbery.
So good that they caught the guy that robbed your son, at least there is a degree of closure in that.
Blessings!
If I remember correctly, they caught him, but he was killed while resisting police arrest. Well perhaps God's answer was that no more innocent people should be attacked. I also I think that praying for someone who has done us harm brings peace to ourselves.
A beautiful spot of sunrise! You are luck to have a chance to memorize it with your camera. Keep your creative work.

We waited a very long time for this miracle.

You always have an eye for the beauty around you 😊
And I like the “walking in gratitude”
Have a great weekend @papilloncharity
Thank you my friend.
It is indeed gratitude that opens doors.
As humans we are born with a great want and if we get, we always want more.
The great want can never be satisfied in this world and it is so much better to appreciate what you have.
There are millions of have not's all over the world.
Blessings!

New home sounds like a lovely little sanctuary with birds chorus all around, good to take a break from unpacking, finally the forever home you have been searching for!
Almost done Lady Joan and it's indeed an adventure.
We have moved so many times that reality has not yet fully set in and I really wonder if my nomad days are really over.
But time will tell as usual.
Blessings to you guys!
We shall never stop singing. Back to basic and learn from the birds. I do think trees and plants sing too. That every living breath has their own way of singing to the Creator.
Absolutely love your photos especially the elegant birds.
Oooh, I love your comment as we think the same.
I also think everything has it's own song of gratitude to our Creator.
Glad that you loved the post my friend.
Blessings!
Howdy sir papilloncharity! What fine pictures again and that silly goose on top of the lamp post is funny! Is that bottom shot of the mountains what you can see from your house?
Yes siree, Sir @janton, I found a spot in the garden where I have a limited view of the mountains. Just enough to get some shots in when the sun does its thing.
Rained early this morning and expected again late afternoon today, but in between there is time to explore.
Hope your Sunday is good.
Blessings.
Howdy again sir papilloncharity! Well that place is looking like more of a blessing all the time. did you guys inspect the property before you made an offer or did you just hear about it and make an offer. and is that a garage back there to one side?
Redfaced Mousebird, I've never seen one before, how beautiful! I love being awakened by birds in the morning. Such a happy and playful wakeup call :) Those mountains, ohh my goodness, such beauty @papilloncharity. Such majesty, a beautiful display of God's artwork! Blessings my friend!
Thank you my friend and the mousebirds are certainly great characters. I love how the feathers in their neck curl up when they make a call. Birdsong is indeed very pleasant. And you have said it all about the mountains. God's supreme artistry.
Hope that you have a good Sunday.
Blessings!
