Thank you for this watercolor painting, I can understand what you mean, we usually start with one medium but then step into the world of other one and fell in love with that. I think watercolor you can either Love or Hate, there is no middle and that is like a real life. I love portrait done in watercolor that open enormous world of opportunity to show the beauty and to experiment. You level of technical skills is amazing and seeing your works it is easy to feel that you real love and enjoying it. Lovely girl with a little kitten :)

I painted this portrait about 3h. I have to wait a long time for the paint to dry before I paint the next layer. I like when color patches overlap

Neat layering of the colors. Also I feel like your brushwork is somewhat loose, and I love that haha. Loose and yet it take precise forms and shapes.
