As we open the Qur’an, the first chapter starts with ‘Alhamdulillah’ which is generally translated as “all praise is for God.”
Islam teaches us to be thankful throughout the day: for waking up from sleep, after eating our meals, drinking water, etc.
In this way, one’s entire life revolves around gratitude to God.
While Ramadan is about piety, reflection, humility, discipline, connection with God, spiritual purification, recitation of the Qur’an, among many other things, it is also about gratitude.
We must guard ourselves against taking for granted the blessings we enjoy.
We have to remain grateful for everything with which the Lord blesses us, and that gratitude should move us to worship Him, get closer to Him, and help those who are not as fortunate as we are Insha’Allah.
May we all have a blessed month full of gratitude and peace. ❤️
