But that cult manifests itself in liberalism today, since it's the dominant culture, and any nasty thing like this can easily hide within it. So if the left wants to restore it's reputation, they should call them out, and ostracize this nonsense from their groups.

But apparently they are just insulting me and mocking me for even trying to bring the subject up. So do they agree with them, behind closed doors? It sure looks like it.

I'm not awarre of Liberalism being the dominant culture. I've never really seen any of this behaviour in real life. I'm from the UK, and I imagine the USA to be a place full of crazy people, but that's just from what I've seen on media. Every American I have met has been logical and level headed, but they have travelled and travelling apparently broadens people's horizons and world views. I only believe things based on what I've seen and multiple fact sources. I used to work in News and Media. Most people don't know what's going on, and they don't know that they don't know.

I think the cult manifests itself across the board. Like people believing microwaves are bad, or stereotyping muslims into a bogeyman. I was in Pakistan recently visiting friends, and couldn't believe the amount of people I knew who had such warped views about the place and people not based on fact or reality, but on emotional reasonings primed by a narrative spun by the media.

When you challenge someone's beliefs it activates the amygdala, which deals with fear response, so to challenge someone's views can be the same as coming at them with a knife. They will defend themselves vehemently.
I think also people challenging your posts may be arguing about different things than you. Your definition of liberalism may differ to theirs.
