all interesting points...buut its still shady. If we don't want their oill...we want something or we would NOT give a fuck. Seriously. And by "we" I mean mainstream media. The fact that they're reporting Maduro as evil is..suspicious. I agree that the economic war is a two way street at this point and he is being...well.. beneath what one would prefer from any society. But that doesn't mean the US and Canada have no interest. We would not report on it if we didn't care. So what I get from your lengthy comment is that perhaps it isn't oil. I wonder what it is then because it's definitely not because Maduro is evil. We ally with tons of evil dictators, so....just fishy is all I'm sayin'.....

i always get suspicious when our media pretends to care about some kind of civil or economic problem, and tend to assume they're full of shit. which they are, even if they aren't full of shit in the way i proposed..
Just throwing in, media != government
It's their job to report on interesting things, locally as well as globally. They do their job. If it was a conspiracy the government itself would claim to have found weapons of mass destruction (Irak), claim to be attacked without any prove after stationing their ship close to their target in order to provoke their enemies (Vietnam) or organise a coup d'état (1953 Iran, 1973 Chile). Just reporting about it is not at all a sign of the government wanting to overthrow some random country's leaders, it's just the media doing their job, which is reporting about the stuff that happens around the world. There are way more convenient ways for governments as powerful as the USA. So once again, nothing to find here, not every reporting is a state-organized conspiracy.
