Forgotten Reverie Early AM

Everything is not so bad
It's time to take a step back
Pockets of chaos
Are bound to erupt
But they don't understand
This does not disrupt

It's tackling the problem
With the same mentality that created it
No one's looking to solve them
When you told them how they berated it

I am not here to save the world
I'll be blessed if I can save myself
Through this matrix we all are hurled
While leaving dreams and visions on the shelf

I was supposed to be
A much more awake being
But I've been numbing myself
Over and over again
And waiting for the day when
I just may begin again

I understand strategy
But I tend to implement the wrong one
I grip tightly to my sanity
But your system is insolvent

I don't know if the veil shall ever truly lift
We had a million chances but the truth is not this
Schism before us
True civilizations abhor us
Because we haven't truly moved past
The atom bomb or mustard gas

In the ancient past
There were viminas
And glass deserts were created
History repeats
And your lies are legislated

I was overstrung
For no rhyme
No reason
No true reward
The paradigm that's pushed
Is truly abhorred

So if the book burnings
Are already taking place
How then are we an enlightened race?

We're not
I'm sick of being distraught
Due to concepts no one was taught

I've been tearing myself down
Most of my life
To cope with all the pain
And the strife

I fell in love with pain
Some find a needle and a vein
I didn't
But it's clear that they need treatment
Not to be thrown into a prison

Life is nothing more than a prison
But then again we all create our own vision
So it's only what you make it
So when you give I'll take it
Only to hear you bitch I took too much
The opposite of Midas touch
This country's headed towards scarcity
When anger is your crutch
Then hubris is impairing thee

I want a new paradigm
And perhaps it shall come
Perhaps it shall not
I'm just sick of a world
Thrown in a landfill to rot

But I've taken all the wrong approaches
If I'm here to awaken souls
Buy new traps for the roaches
And make sure no truth is ever disclosed

Oversaturate everything so much
Mind control swipes your screen time
With a simple touch
