Let me introduce a forest planted by Vikings!
At Vollom outside Bergen, there's a 1500 year old beech forest, originally planted as part of the viking king's royal farm at Seim, Norway.
The exact time it was planted, no one knows today. The timber from here was used to make the famous viking longboats.
Because this is the most northern place with a wild beech forest. this area is now a protected area, considered a national treasure.. (click picture for a bigger version ;)
It's really beautiful! The energy in this place is quite amazing!
Here's another picture taken straight up:
My oldest son loved the forest!
In the middle of the forest this was hanging:
Blairwitch much?
Soon the leaves in this forest will turn to autumn colors! Then I'll return to take some more pictures for you!
Have a good day everyone!
