New report from government run statistical agency show that 11,3% of citizens born in Norway but with immigrant parents were charged of at least one crime between 2010-2013. Compared to 4,5% of the regular population. Almost 3 times more likely to commit crime that is.

As the report states; "There are big differences when you look at national background" The overrepresentation is largest when you compare the ethnical norwegian population with refugees from the middle east and Africa.
Among the east asian countries however, The Philippines, India, China and Thailand crime stats are very low, as the same level as norwegians. Also underrepresented are immigrants from Western Europe and North America.
The report of course fails to address why this is. Hmm..what could be the explanations? Are there any common factors? I have no idea - other than that they are probably racist explanations!

@scandinavianlife being charged with crime is not the same as being successfully convicted of crime. Just because someone is charged doesn't necessarily mean that they are guilty. You have to be tried and convicted of crime.
Yeah, generalizations doesn't mean that YOU can't be a great person wherever you're from. The "But, I.." is not an argument. 11,5% of non-western immigrants are criminals. That means 89,5% are not. Still, if we're a population where only 4% are criminals, why would we want to import people from a population where 12% are criminals? Makes no sense right? :)
Also, if you apply that logic, why stop there? We're all really just worm right? Or one celled organisms, because that's where we came from. Or actually, we're just Carbon really. So why should we not just live like Carbon and accept our Carbon-lifestyle?
And no, not everyone are orginially from Africa. That hypothesis is not very strong, and recently it has been challenged. It's just something we've been told so we could relate more to Africa or something..I dont know. A way to force us to care more about Africa than we should. "But but..we're all from there, really! We should all be like them! Savage lifestyle is so much more better than our boring western lifestyle!" :)

I don't know what is the connection between crime and immigrants so I cannot really intelligently comment on that but there are a lot of positives of immigrants if you think of: The NHS in UK and there will not be much of a USA if all the immigrant decendants came back to Europe, Mexico, Africa, Asia etc. Things are not always as clear-cut as we would like them to be and it is prudent not to jump to the simplest conclusions. We are all interconnected and need each other to thrive. Obviously, our personal experiences shape our view of the world and that might be the reason why you and I see this issue differently and understand it differently. This difference is more of a reason to connect and learn from each other. For ex - If it weren't for you I would not have known that maybe life did not start in Africa :)
Yeah, It doesn't really matter if you put forward some argument that doesn't take into consideration..well..facts. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be rude or anything. But nursing wouldnt' just collapse if it weren't for immigration, especially taken into consideration that the population growth in UK and all other countries is mainly because of immigration. Sure..there are a lot of babyboomers who "needs to be taken care of" but to be honest, they are the generation that brought all this mess onto us, so good luck with that..
Listen, simple facts: Immigrants from third world countries participate A LOT less in the work force. There aren't primarilly Afghan or Nigerian doctors and nurses. There are sri lankan, Indian, Chinese and Eastern europeans nurses.
Work force participation of people from third world countries are HORRENDOUS..in Norway (and i suspect it's pretty much the same in the UK) is on average 60%! For women it's under 40%. Compared to ethnic norwegians 85% of men work and 80% of women. Immigrants from western and eastern europe AND east asia have HIGHER work force participation than norwegians. Conclusion: We WANT these kinds of immigrants. They don't commit violence and they contribute to our society.
But the problem is, governments are not interested in these immigrants. They want immigrants that need government. And immigrants that need government are immigrants that does not intend to work or are basically unemployable due to low IQ, pysychological problems or cultural/religious "baggage"
Now once you start importing people with 30-40% lower work force participation the welfare state collapses. This is of course a painfully slow process and the generation that will notice it the most are unfortunately not the baby boomer assholes (again,not everyone..but in general - those who have been cheering on more government and more immigration) but MY generation, and also MY son.
We are left with the chaos that we had no say in. Sweden (and the rest of the west) are experiencing the start of it. Elderly thrown out of sick care. Forced to take care of themselves in their own home until they die in a puddle of their own urine and shit because they fell over. Children going to school and kindergarden in terrible conditions. Drug addicts, gypsies shitting in their playground. Beggars on every street corner. Higher crime. Theft. People having to work until 70-75 years old. No pension.
Fact is, we did not have this kind of society when I was a kid. We had none of the problems I'm portraying. If there was a murder it was on national news. Today there are murder rapes every week in Sweden, and since I'm married to a swede I hear horrible stories every day from people living there. At the same time leftists and feminists are trying to cover over it. It's an insane asylum.
I'm not talking about you when I'm arguing against immigration. I'm not talking about my brown friends neither. They are here because they like it here, and they contribute and share my values. I'm talking about statistics and facts. I'm sure I have a soulmate in Liberia, but it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

This is all because of the welfare system. One could claim it to some extent has some relevance to culture, but then again would the underlying root cause be the welfare system. Doesn't matter where you go in the world, you will find the same data everywhere. If you have a group of people that to greater extent are living of goverment money, you will find that there is more crime in that same group. Doesn't even matter if they are immigrants or have been living in the country for many generations.
My perspective is like this; immigration should be limted as much as possible due to the simple fact that any newcomers that is added to the welfare system is an additional load to the taxpayers.
But at the other hand, in a free society, immigration is a real value booster for everyonem and you don't get those problems as we see in Europe today without welfare.
Freedom is the fuel to prosperity and people are the engine of value creation in that matter. So it's like if you have a really effective factory. When freedom is applied, there will always be a need fo people to help do the job.
