There's a lot of things that happen on a camping trip that are different from normal life. Exercise for instance. Most people would get more on a camping trip than when they've got all the conveniences right next to the easy chair.

It could also be that just being away from TV and computers is so boring that people go to bed rather than talk to each other around a campfire. There, of course, they find that going to bed with each other is kinda fun, and we all know what happens after that,zzz
