I'm on my way back South for the Winter. Seattle is great during the Summer, but it's hard to resist the call of the Arizona deserts when the rains of the Pacific Northwest set in.
One of my first stops was in the wilds of Nevada. A lone road stretches for miles through the middle of nowhere. I pull off into the brush to rest for the night, and do a little exploring before I retire.

I live in Nevada! I love Playing out in the desert! cool. Stars are most amazing. See any coyotes? there is lots of BLM land. Be careful though. there's underground ancient tunnels. They dont want you to know, also believe it or not Area 51 and Nelis AFB is larger underground then above. I got lost out in the Mojave and Ill tell you they can have water from Big Bear Cali but they caved in and covered up the Moreno tunnel which supplied that area out there with its water. So much stuff. I like it out there because i feel like a normal person. All of this frequency, light pollution is horrible.
Nevada certainly has some magic to it, a very unique energy. I didn't see any coyotes this time, but I definitely heard them.
Ya, the underground bases are huge and my understanding is that they're connected by an underground highway system. Wonder if they'll ever make that officially public.
It's hard to stay in touch with ourselves in this crazy world, and places like this make it easier to get centered again. You are lucky to live where you have easy access to this kind of place.
Man, I love going to kingman Arizona and playing out in the wash... you talk about fun, adventure and you can just be .... man. I go there. Let music bounce off the mountains (they are red there). Have quiet moments and resonate with nature. Here's a Dtube snap so you can see terrain. It's like 7 seconds long. But my point is it leads winding down to Colorado river.... just beautiful. Kingman Wash. Mile marker 2. You gotta kinda walk down, past a drainage area for rain off, but keep going and it just opens up a beautiful world. With colorful mountains. Tangible. I I think you'd like it.

Thanks for the tip, I hope to check Kingman Wash out soon!
I never knew you could stay on land like that. For 2 week? That's crazy.

Yup, you can stay 2 weeks on BLM or National Forest, which is a huge amount of land especially in the western United States.
While you're traveling and camping down through Nevada, if you like thrillers/horror maybe you can try downloading and reading the book "Desperation" by Stephen King (it's set in middle-of-nowhere Nevada). I had a fun time reading that while on a road trip through there... though I suppose those of a more sensitive or nervous disposition might disagree with me on that ;)
Haha, I think I'll pass on putting scary images in my head considering I'm usually out here by myself.
I can't entirely blame you; reading halfway through that book and then sleeping in my car on the side of a lonely road in Nevada was.... interesting :)
grat story and amazing location ;)
Thanks @johannespre!
