Nirjhum Island is a small island of Bangladesh. It belongs to Hatia Upazila of Noakhali district. The government of Bangladesh on April 8, 2001, declared the whole island as a national park. Nirjhum Island's former name was Char Osman.Bathan named Osman first settled with his buffalo bath and settled on the island of Nirjhum. Then it was after this name.
