The FBI has just released all of the information about this seizure plus the entire document cache on Nikola Tesla. You can view the recently released FBI files here: https://vault.fbi.gov/nikola-tesla
Look here to see the Recently Added documents on the FBI website, and Nikola Tesla is among them: https://vault.fbi.gov/recently-added
The Free Thought Project has just published an article that announces the FBI has finally released the documents that it seized from Nikola Tesla in 1943. The FBI's actions regarding seizing Tesla's intellectual property after his death have long been a source of resentment, especially for those interested in his legacy and scientific contributions. It is true that the FBI seized his personal belongings, but it's not well known that these items were shipped to Belgrade in 1952 under mounting pressure from Tesla's nephew, Sava Kosanović. In total, Tesla's belongings fit into 80 trunks that were shipped to Belgrade at that time. Those items are now found in The Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade and it houses the largest collection of Tesla's personal belongings.
Part of the outrage concerning the FBI seizing Tesla's property upon his death was the fact that Tesla was a US citizen. So the fact that the Office of Alien Property was the division that carried out this order makes this seizure one that many viewed with suspicion. Also, it was perfect fodder for conspiracy theorists. What's not clear, though, is whether the FBI handed over absolutely everything to Tesla's nephew. Well, it looks like you can now wade through all the documents yourself now to find the missing puzzle pieces.

One of the most notable documents contained in the FBI seizure is that which pertains to Tesla's death ray invention. Some called it the peace ray.
The death ray used these four methods in theory:
An apparatus for producing manifestations of energy in free air instead of in a high vacuum as in the past.
A mechanism for generating tremendous electrical force.
A means of intensifying and amplifying the force developed by the second mechanism.
A new method for producing a tremendous electrical repelling force. This would be the projector, or gun, of the invention -wikipedia

News of Tesla's death ray first appeared in the New York Times in 1934 and here's an excerpt:
The headline on the front page of "The New York Times" read, "TESLA, AT 78, BARES NEW 'DEATH BEAM.'" The article reported that the new invention "will send concentrated beams of particles through the free air, of such tremendous energy that they will bring down a fleet of 10,000 enemy airplanes at a distance of 250 miles..." Tesla stated that the death beam would make war impossible by offering every country an "invisible Chinese wall." -Source: http://teslauniverse.com/nikola-tesla/timeline/1934-tesla-moves-hotel-new-yorker
About Tesla's Death
Tesla was found dead on January 8, 1943 by his maid. He was found in his room, #3327, at the Hotel New Yorker in NYC at the time of his death. The medical examiner who did the autopsy concluded that Tesla had died of coronary thrombosis. On January 9th, after the FBI learned of his death, they ordered the US Office of Alien Property to seize all of Tesla's belongings from his hotel room and other places in New York City. These items were then transported to the Manhattan Storage and Warehouse Company under OAP seal.
Many people are only vaguely aware of Tesla's inventions and scientific discoveries. We learn that because the FBI considered him a threat, information about him in mainstream USA was suppressed. This is evidenced by the school system leaving him out of its history books. There are other reasons he has been omitted, too. Is it naive of me to think that now, after the FBI has released its Tesla files to the public, the school system will add him into its history books?
Well, first the teachers will need to be educated. It's hard to teach a subject of which you know nothing about.
And a quote from Tesla to end with:
The memories of my youth and even of earliest childhood are very vivid, and it seems to me that my character began to develop a little sooner than is the case with most people. As a very small boy I was weak and vacillating, and made many childish resolves, only to break them. But when I was eight years old I read “The Son of Aba,” a Serbian translation of a Hungarian writer, Josika, whose lessons are similar to those of Lew Wallace in Ben Hur. This book awakened my will power. I began to practice self-control, subdued many of my wishes, and resolved to keep every promise I ever made, whether to myself or to anyone else. The members of my family were not long in learning that if I promised a thing I would do it. -Tesla Universe
Anyone not wanting to go via FBI for these files can get them here :)

I have not analysed the PDF files, only ever open them sandboxed.
oh thanks.
No worries :)
ha ha!
Very good one hahahaha
This is wicked, it is about time. Thanks a bunch for sharing this precious link and some of its knowledge. Namaste :)
Tesla was crazy. But he was good at what he did.
We know now that some of his dream inventions like free energy and death rays and what not won't work. We know because we can build them.
But the man was still a visionary and an unsung hero of the modern age.
Great work stellabelle!
It's very tricky researching Tesla because the information comes from all different kinds of sources, some good, some not good. This is the case with suppressed information. Even the websites are many times looking sketchy. Tesla Universe is a very good source, maybe one of the best. It has chronological order too......I think many people don't know that Tesla's nephew was given Tesla's property that the FBI seized. That's not a headline that grabs people's attention.....
I didn't really read the document but I did read a few pages of the third and in some of them it's claiming that they aren't ordered chronologically, probably only on these specifical pages.
Oh, I was talking about the Tesla Universe website....
I don't know what you're talking about - Tesla was in my school books. Since I was about 13, I knew him as the guy who battled Edison and ultimately had one really excellent idea: Alternating current. This idea changed the world.
I also distinctly remember a picture of him in a high school physics book, standing inside one of his lightning cages.
It's fun to imagine him a suppressed genius, but my opinion (as an electrical engineer) is that he was probably just a kooky guy who took the money he made off his single good idea and spent the rest of his life tinkering with wild ideas. Of course, I'm open to being proved wrong - but I'm not holding my breath.
Who needs schoolbooks when you have this:
At my school there was no mention of him. And I did a bit of research, and it appears that the majority of schools don't mention him. Maybe it's changing though...what year did you go to high school and was it in the USA?
Interesting. Yeah, it was in the USA, I graduated in 2002.
ah, you are a pup! I'm old enough to be your mom........
Omg @stellabelle check out Ned's pic on trending and Tesla's pic you made. I just noticed they look almost the same. Check it out and let me know what you think!
yes, and did you see my latest meme? I tried to edit my post, and it won't let me, i was going to add your name in it....
Lol that's awesome.
Speaking of tesla, I'm getting an MRI this week to demonstrate how the technology actually works.
We're going to call it "Inside the mind of William Banks" and post it here.
steemit.com/@imaxess
Would love to have you make an "open skull" type photoshop thing for the intro pic!
we need more geniuses like Nikola Tesla
I assume I'm not the only one who thinks Tesla was done away with. The reasoning is simple, Rise of combustion energy and petrodollar.
Well, Tesla had a poor diet especially in his later years, with him drinking milk as his main food source, so it's very likely he died of natural causes at 86...he was extremely thin and frail...
He died in his mid 80's... which is 20+ years over the average life expectancy at the time.. At the end he was a crazy old man that hunted for Ghosts (I doubt many people knew that). Yes, its true. His last portion of life was partialy dedicated to the supernatural.
I doubt the Government cared that much about him during his last years.
Betty White
My father is in his 90's and I am sure there are a few ghosts he would like to chase as well...lol
do you have a proof for his crazyness ?
I personally don't but the internet has plenty of information regarding his experiments and designs that attempted to find "ghosts"
He was the original mastermind behind spiritual containment that ghostbusters ripped off. To be honest, his later part of life was probably the most interesting, even though he was Nuts.
Anyone who knows about tesla knows he was nuts
well, he was OCD. He had to walk around his building a set amount of times after he ate dinner. And he could only stay in hotel room numbers that were divisible by 3. In fact, he had everything divisible by three.....he also had to fold his napkins in certain ways or else he couldn't eat dinner.....
Superb article @stellabelle I love everything that is about Nikola Tesla ! I followed you for more !
Some months ago when I was writing for Interesting Engineering, I was literally obsessed with learning as much as possible about Tesla. He's still an inspiration for anyone who is seeking knowledge.
It is pretty funny that this articles says he belongings were seized by the US office of Alien Property ; i myself for years have maintained Einstein and Tesla were in fact ALIENS ! ! ! ; )
Quite perceptive anyone from outside the country is in fact alien. Neither were natural born citizens.
Yes must be one of the greatest minds ever no?? I mean he totally revolutionized the 20th century and well thinking on it more, this one too !! This guy was a God Particle on two legs, the Mozart of electricity !!
Telsa is without doubt one of the greatest scientists to have ever lived. He was years ahead of his contemporaries and the establishment did all that they could to silence and discredit him.
Ask most people today what they know about Telsa and you might get a reply like this:
'it's is a car that Elon Musk built'
Sad but true!
Personally, I think that the FBI retained the documents that they didn't want to see the light of day.
I think some good books about Tesla need to be written for kids as well as teachers.
Elon Musk will be reading all night now, I guess...
Thank you for the heads-up on this info! Time will tell what is written in the school history books!
stellabelle could you connect to steemit.chat?
I could but I'm playing Minecraft with my daughter and checking new comments here......I will later on...
I wonder... If we could make some cool interactions between steem and minecrack via bukkit plugins. I bet it would make for one of the most solid communities with less trolling if accounts were tied to steem logins and reputation..
Just a thought, for anyone interested..
I dont dare get back into it myself, but id be happy to have less competition on steemit cos everyones off playing ;)
my daughter is completely addicted. I'm doing nothing about it, though, as she will have to sort through it herself. When parents try to save their children from things they are actually delaying their children's learning how to deal with game addictions. Everyone must pass through it and learn how to limit oneself. I am following the Altucher method in letting kids dictate how they spend their free time.....who knows if it's the correct thing to do. i was raised on TV, and I turned out FINE. Buwahhahahahahahah!
Still addicted to wow here. Pretty bad when you're traveling internationally, know the patch is going to cost as much in intl data as much as you're going to earn that week and it's actually a decision that's tough to make!
Damn didn't erased it on time, lol.
I don't like that it's still government's version of his life.
I think that these documents were released in 2003? or well 2001,2002 and 2003 respectively for the first, second, and third document.
where are those dates listed?
I don't remember I closed the documents, but if you look even at the URL it says 2003 on the third atleast. Maybe why it took them 1 year for each was to investigate and modify it at their taste.
me neither
well, on the FBI website, if you click on "Recently Added" you see Nikola Tesla was added on Sept. 21,2016: https://vault.fbi.gov/recently-added
Super interesting article!
Tesla was a genius, my favorite scientist of all time!
Omg!
This is amazing news. It was bizarre the way the seizure happened in the first place. I never ever expected them to release the documents.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of the analysis in the next few weeks and months.
This is very educational. I wonder what information they didn't release and how much Tesla had an effect in our society.
And we know they actually released all and every document they seized ; how? How do we know this...
This snapshot contains only the information about the inventions and traces related to it, but not the full inventions documentation. Some of the real docs are held in US, some in Russia (e.g. transmission of high power aparatus sold to Amtorg for $25000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amtorg_Trading_Corporation) but not everything will be ever released to the public.
thanks for your information.
Thanks 4 sharing this information. Completely free energy might be an hoax but producing independent energy is possible and by sharing those information it'll become true for more and more people.
Good article,
Thank you.
Have to agree with crok, how will we ever know they released everything and why after all these years. They had plenty of time to scrutinise everything and do with it what they wanted.
we won't know, you're right.
Ah nice! I was thinking of doing a post on Tesla. Good job. A visionary ahead of his time.
I think that Tesla was killed. As we know conspiracy is the best way to cover crime case.

Great post @stellabelle, Tesla is one of the most inspiring character to me.
I've always found it odd that Thomas Edison gets so much recognition in school and is taught soooo much. Then tesla on the other hand, gets no recognition in schools. Yet Thomas Edison didn't even invent the light bulb. He only improved upon what other were already working on and then patented it. He it seemed like he was really jealous of Nikolas Tesla ability to make inventions so well.
My theory for the reason of why Thomas Edison is taught so much in school is that he is a great business man that would choose money over innovation any day. He would also choose cruelty and lying to make money. Like when he killed an elephant to discredit AC. The U.S. promotes these values for the people of the country to follow, therefore that it why he is taught instead tesla. And yes sadly I think it is naive to think that he will be added to text books :(
Schools and American society at large place way more emphasis on financial success. Tesla died in poverty....
It is absolutely possible that some of the ideas Tesla left in those seized papers could have been altered so that when released no one could actually make the idea work. We are talking about the government seizing papers of a genius.
hello from Croatia, native Tesla's country. :)
hallo!
So, after years of well thought-out conspiracy theories the FBI only send his belongings back to his family. This is such an anti-climax :|
yes, but now you can read the notes that the FBI wrote in Tesla's file!
It is not uncommon for the brilliant to be somewhat mental, in some significant part, this is due to the fact that our world is tragically illogical.
The world pays way too much attention to the vapid, the greedy, the ones who lack humility. It seems the smarter one is, the less one has the need to impress others. The quest for fame is mostly due to the ego's dominance.
Indeed.
Furthermore, the truly novel material and ideas are made accessible/ acceptable in reciprocal relationship to the level of ego dominance over one's awareness. The world is a small place to a narrow mind and the more set we are in our beliefs about who we are and what the world is (the stronger the ego becomes), the narrower our minds become.
Enter LSD :) No wonder why the government suppresses it...
Thank you @stellabelle. I am obsessed with Tesla. I will follow you. Please follow me back. Like minded people should stick together.
I scanned through the documents and none of it is actually the work of Tesla. All just articles and requests to release his work. I guess the nephew has all of Tesla's work.
I want to visit the museum in Belgrade with the majority of his work. I'm sure you can't see any of his papers but still on the bucket list. Who wants to go? We can document the trip on Steemit :)
Great post stellabelle! My dad was also an inventor ahead of his time. I'm working on getting his technology out to mankind to end poverty and pollution. Please feel free to follow me and upsteem our stuff <3
It is very interesting the story of Tesla had heard that rumors ran that he was killed because he was going against the current system and as he had discovered free energy and the only one who knew that discovery at the time was his nephew .
Ummmm. So you think the FBI released anything of value and didn't keep away anything? You think the FBI always releases the entire log when they 'release' classified information? How trusting.
