Demons

When you sleep, your body shuts down the use of your muscles. This is to stop you from acting out your dream. For example, if this does not happen, running in your dream might mean getting out of bed and running too which would be dangerous.

To wake up, you first regain the use of your muscles and then your consciousness. This way you are able to move when you wake.

Now sometimes, regaining consciousness comes before regaining the use of your muscles. This means that you are aware of what is happening but can't move no matter how you try because your muscles are yet to receive strength. This usually takes a few seconds to a couple of minutes until you are able to move. This is called 'sleep paralysis.'

Research has shown that during this time, people tend to hallucinate hence tend to scream as it is usually a scary experience.

Just to say that no demon is pinning you to the bed. And anybody capitalising on this absolutely natural process to extort money from you in the name of deliverance is lagging behind.

The fact that you tried to scream 'Jesus' & was held down is not enough to earn you that spiritual exorcism. You just couldn't because your muscles had no strength, not even your vocal chords.

When you experience sleep paralysis, try not to fight it and just go back to sleep. It can be scary; I know. Give yourself two minutes and you will be just fine.
