Politice in Nigeria, Are we really independent?

Today, i will be talking about reality as it relates to political affairs in my country. Am a Nigerian,
and am proud of my country. I know most of us here in the steemit community just had about the name Nigeria or rather happen to know few things about the Nation Nigeria.

Nigeria is a country in the continent of Africa. one very resource place blessed with a lot of Natural resources. And their income is mostly derived from oil (crude oil).

In the year 1914,The name Nigeria was given by a woman called flora shaw the wife of lord lugard. And this is the why the word Nigeria is often referred to as " HER and SHE" in pronoun words(part of speech in English).

One identifications we have has Nigerians,is our national flag ,coat of arm ,national anthem etc.

Having two colours green and ,, white

The green colour represents fertility
While the white colour represents Nigeria being a peaceful country..

Nigeria is homely in Nature,experiencing peace all round.

Nigeria gain her independence october 1st 1960
Nigeria is a great country blessed with heroes who once fought for independence; such has cheif obafomi awolowo, Nnamdi azikiwe,Herbert macualey.

Just three weeks ago; october 1st 2018 Nigerians celebrated independence. Independence simply means freedom for dictatorship from taskmaster who once lead us.

My question is, Are we really free?

Maybe i will get an answer to my question soon,
Nigeria has 36 states including federal capital city(abuja) .and each state happens to have a leader often referred to has governor bestowed with political powers to rule .

For 58 years, Nigeria has being practising a democratic system of government.

What is democracy?

Democracy can be defined as the power of the people,for the people and by the people.

but yet the voices of the masses are not being heard. things has fallen apart.

Have got proves to prove that Nigeria is not a democratic nation;we claim be democratic as a nation, but still relevant issues that ought to be handled by our political leaders are swept under the carpet.

We claim to be democratic in nature where we have sold out the destiny of our future leaders to people who just came for the national cake,individuals who are being given shootup money to cast their vote unjustfully.

We claim to be democratic in nature when we have a lot of graduate who still rome about the street jobless..

We claim to be domocratic and still the average Nigeria man find it difficult to feed himself and his family....

We claim to be democratic, where political power spills round a particular circle instead of giving power to people that are willing to bring development.

Our education system is nothing to write home
About, kudos to wole shoyinka who wrote a book about this menace tittled "EDUCATION AS
DECAYED".

Several times, we have been promised change but still things translate from worse to worst
Where is democracy in all of this?

The solution lies with us,2019 election will take place ..the race has already started...lets go out there to make things right. lets make the labour of our heroes past count! We all can do this. cause united we stand divided we fall.
