2024 in Review and Setting Some Loose Goals for 2025

Well first off, Happy New Year to you all. This is my first Hive post of 2025 and I thought I'd set some loose goals for the year and write a little about 2024.

Before I start, I hope all who read this have a happy, healthy, prosperous 2025! Thanks for stopping by my corner of the Hive blockchain and taking some time to read this. You're much appreciated! I love my Hive fam!

I'll start with a quick review of 2024, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I mainly focused on getting my resell business off the ground. For the most part, that went off without a hitch. As a matter of fact, I really enjoyed growing the business over the summer. As you can see from the below pic, my inventory is growing. The stuff still in boxes to the right, still needs to be listed. The resell business is doing exactly what I intended it to do, cover the bills so I don't have to dip into my trading funds.

Sadly, I didn't really take many trips or do any traveling. At least not much, a couple short jaunts to local lakes. The focus was on sourcing resell items and that's basically what I accomplished.

Besides that, I had a close family member get really sick so I've spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals treating a medical condition. That was another reason for staying close to home.

Like many of us, 2024 wasn't really a spectacular year for me. On Bluesky, a lot of people seemed to have similar feelings towards the past year. It almost seems like a dark cloud looming over the world since Covid. Between all the sickness, wars, wacky human behavior, and upheavals in the world, I guess it's taking a toll on people.

Not to be Donny Downer or anything but I'm really not feeling overly optimistic about 2025 either. Nothing like starting the New Year with a terror attack in New Orleans, followed by a cybertruck explosion in Vegas. IDK, I've got a really weird feeling and vibe heading into the new year and the strangeness with the drones isn't really helping matters either. I actually had a second sighting in the far distance the other night. Maybe that's a story for another night, I really would like to get to the bottom of that mystery though. What an ending to 2024 🤣

So I'm keeping my goals loose and simple this year. This way I can duck, cover, and roll with the punches as the new year proceeds because I really have the nagging premonition that is what navigating 2025 will be like. I truly hope I'm wrong about that.

Weight and Fitness

I've maintained my weight this year. I would have liked to have lost some more, but more importantly I didn't gain back the weight I lost. At least not by pants size. 🤣 I haven't weighed myself in a while. However, I went down a pants size the previous year and I've maintained that. My pants are just starting to get a little snug. My loose weight goal for 2025, try to go down one size.

As far as a loose fitness goal, I have to find some exercises I can do low impact. My back is shot, I can't jog anymore. My shoulders are shot, I can't lift weights anymore. I'm thinking Yoga or some low impact cardio. Regardless, I have to find a way to stay fit in 2025 and stick with it. I just need to find something my aged and self abused body can handle. 🤣

Resell Business

Another loose goal for the resell business is getting into higher end items with higher profit margins. I started small and I've built a nice inventory. It's time to try to level up. In 2025 I want to find some new higher end niche outside of clothing.

Crypto

Man, XRP saved my bacon this holiday season! Thank you XRP! The one thing I'm extremely optimistic about is crypto in 2025. I think we're going to see big things in 2025 this market cycle. I've set a financial goal for crypto trading for 2025. It's not a super high goal, you all know I'm a small trader. Still, I'd like to keep that goal to myself. Maybe, I'll divulge it next year and let you all know whether or not I reached it. Still, a financial goal has been set for 2025 crypto trading. If I buy a new motorcycle this summer, you'll know I'm on my way to reaching it. #LFG

Finally Travel

This is a tough one. With sick family and needing to help out, and WANTING TO HELP OUT, I'll have to take this in stride. I'd like to take off on at least 2 motorcycle adventures outside of NY state this year. At the very least, I'd like to make it to the Adirondacks again. I'm really going to try and get a couple adventures in this year. I'm really not sure how much distance riding my body has left in it. I want to get those rides in while I can.

So that's it, sorry I'm not super optimistic on 2025. A lot of that is due to my own personal issues though. Hopefully, you're optimistic, energized, and ready to take on 2025. I'm expecting big things from the crypto markets, outside of that, my expectations are low. 🤣 I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best!
