Once highlighted for being sourced by MSNBC's Joy Reid, the #AnimeRight has been in & out of mainstream view for some time — but just how far does the 2D reach go?
Alleged to be run by the Kremlin, this elusive group has affected both domestic & international politics. As mentioned, this includes a hilarious MSNBC endorsement.
Did the #AnimeRight cause James Comey, former Director of the FBI, to get an avatar? Or to quote The Daily Beast, who use a lot more provocative wording, 'come out of the shadows?'
It's possible.
Shortly before Comey uploaded an avatar of himself for the first time on Twitter, this author, a member of the #AnimeRight — had sent him a direct message (DM) telling him to do just that.
Why?
I don't know.
But on Halloween, Comey decided to upload an avatar of himself, replacing the default profile image. Just as someone from the #AnimeRight had instructed him to.
Following this, Comey then verified himself on Twitter, complete with a blue check "you're special" mark.
Coincidence?
