Tim Tebow Stunts Backfire as Minor-League Team Mocks His Faith

in #news7 years ago (edited)

If he was a muslim, city would be torched, media outraged...

"Charleston RiverDogs general manager Dave Echols issued an apology to anyone offended by the team’s promotional mocking of Columbia Fireflies outfielder Tim Tebow, whose celebrity status helped the RiverDogs sell out all three games of the series."

...

"During the first game, the RiverDogs most notably played off Tebow’s Christian faith, playing the “Hallelujah Chorus” during his at-bats. The RiverDogs’ mascot wore eye black that featured the Bible verse John 3:16, just as the former Heisman-winning quarterback did when he played for the Florida Gators. The mascot was also caught Tebowing — taking a knee to pray just as Tebow did in his NCAA and NFL playing days. Other gestures included pictures of Columbia players on the scoreboard during starting lineups that read, “Not Tim Tebow.”

Guess I missed something ok will do.

I think that means he's doing it right.

John 15:18-19 (NET Bible)

18 “If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

Amen..

This is something that Tim Tebow has had to deal with all during his career, and I am sure that he is able to excel despite it. The Bible warns that there will always be mockers, and our response to them should be kindness and compassion, because a mockers reward is the laugh or the attention they receive for being prideful and mean, but for those who bring people together instead of tearing them apart, their reward is peace and kindness from other people, and if they are christians, the promise of living with the Lord forever in everlasting love, peace, and joy.

True Christianity comes with sacrifice. The Apostle Paul didn't have it both ways. He made his living by making tents and some offerings from his church family. In the end when you stand for the faith and want to make a dent in this world, you will suffer. How much better is it for Tim to store up treasures in heaven and not have stuff here on earth that moth and thief steal.
